Art Exhibit & Events Planning Assist in planning, coordination and execution for set-up of receptions, lectures, exibits, concerts and other special events.

Arts and Culture Committee Develop relationships with other arts and cultural organizations and involve them in our festivals and events.

Blessing of the Animals Volunteers assist with hospitality/ushering, setup, cleanup and other logisitics for this inter-denominational liturgical event to bless all creatures on the first Sunday in October.

The event begins at 1:30 p.m., however, volunteers are needed beginning at 11:00 a.m. or noon.
Concert and Event Staff Greet event patrons and/or performers. Provide information and assistance as needed. Setup, take down and logistics for events. May involve guiding performers from dressing rooms to performance space. Events usually take place weekend evenings, some afternoons. Busiest months are October - December and February - April. Commitment is 5-6 hours per event and a minimum of 5 events per year. Gifts/skills include outgoing and helpful nature, flexibility, good interpersonal skills, and ability to respond quickly to challenging situations. Concert and Event Ushers Greet event patrons, provide information and assistance as needed. Events usually take place on weekend evenings, some afternoons. Busiest months are October - December and February - April, for a total of about 20 events per year. Volunteer for one or two events....more is great! Time commitment is 4-5 hours per event. Docent Docents provide tours related to the architectural and religious significance of The Basilica of Saint Mary. Tours are regularly scheduled on Sundays after the 9:30am and 11:30am Masses, or by appointment. Training and ongoing support is provided.

TRAINING WORKSHOP OCCURS ONCE A YEAR in the fall. There are nine mandatory training sessions. During the training period, participants are required to shadow seasoned docents either after the 9:30am Mass or 11:30am Mass. At the completion of training, participants will lead the coordinator of the workshop on a tour of The Basilica before they are added to the roster of active docents. If you are interested in becoming a docent, your contact information will be recorded. Prior to the scheduling of a training workshop, a notice will be sent to you.
